Styron R&D - Samstagern, Switzerland – After operating a pilot coating facility in Horgen, Switzerland for close to four decades, we moved our pilot coater to upgraded facilities in Samstagern, Switzerland in October 2008. The new Styron R&D Center Paper & Board Coating includes the following features. The pilot coating facility in Samstagern is located just outside Zurich – only hours by plane from almost anywhere in Europe. Styron R&D - Midland, MI, USA – The pilot coater in Midland, Michigan, which started operations in 1960, is the site of the first supplier-owned pilot facility. The current facility opened in 1987 and continues to provide decades of pilot coating knowledge as well as a thorough testing ground for new product development and troubleshooting.
